The Valerie Galanis Memorial Scholarship
Valerie Galanis lived a life defined by faith, family, strength, and kindness. A proud graduate of Koraes, Class of 1975, Valerie treasured the friendships, values, and Greek Orthodox faith that were nurtured during her years at Koraes and remained an important part of her life.
A devoted wife and mother, accomplished business leader, mentor, and cherished member of the Saints Constantine and Helen community, Valerie led by example. She broke barriers professionally while never losing sight of what mattered most—her family, her faith, her Greek heritage, and caring for others.
Valerie had an extraordinary ability to make people feel welcomed, supported, and loved. Her warmth and generosity touched countless lives, and her legacy continues through the family, friends, and community she held so dear.
The Valerie Galanis Memorial Scholarship honors that legacy by supporting the Fr. Byron Koraes Family Assistance Fund and helping families provide their children with the faith, education, community, and lifelong foundation that Valerie herself cherished.
Make an Impact in Valerie’s Memory
Every gift, at every level, helps make a Koraes education possible for a family in need. Donors may choose a giving level of $500, $1,000, $2,000, $3,000, $4,000, $5,000, or make a personal impact and donate from your heart, any amount is a gift.
A $500 gift can cover a student’s fees, field trips, and other educational extras for an entire school year. Gifts of $1,000–$5,000 provide meaningful assistance toward a student’s tuition, while an $8,500 Full Tuition Sponsorship provides one student with a full year of Koraes tuition. Smaller donations build and can have a lasting impact.
Whether helping with the extras that make a child’s school experience complete or sponsoring an entire year of education, every gift carries Valerie’s legacy forward by giving a Koraes family the gift of faith, education, and community.
Through this scholarship, Valerie’s spirit of generosity will continue to lift others for generations to come.
