Greek Orthodox Athletic League (GOAL)

The GOAL of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago is a home for athletics that traces its roots back over 50 years. Its focus is growing the principles of healthy competition, sportsmanship, and fellowship through its offerings for our youth and young adults. The GOAL’s offerings include: (1) the GOAL Basketball League for 3rd-12th Graders, along with its Men’s League; (2) the Metropolitan Iakovos Memorial Thanksgiving Tournament; and (3) softball and basketball tournaments for youth & young adults throughout the year.

The leadership of the GOAL includes its Commissioner and Executive Board of volunteers.

PAPAFLESSAS BASKETBALL

Founded in 1991, Papaflessas is a youth basketball program that teaches skills and teamwork while fostering lifelong friendships and connecting players to their Hellenic heritage. We work with children from age 7 through 99 and compete in tournaments throughout the Chicago area and beyond. Our success comes from our focus on sportsmanship, trust, and, above all, fellowship and the joy of the game.
