ADOPTION
REFERRAL INFORMATION SERVICE

Purpose: To offer information about Orthodox and
Non-Orthodox adoption agencies.
COMPASSIONATE SUPPORT GROUP
Contact: Fr. Nicholas Jonas, (708) 974-3400 or Deanne Savide,
(708) 923-1017.
Purpose: To bring people together who are grieving,
especially those who have lost a loved one.
Activities: Support gatherings are held as announced. This ministry also hosts an
annual “Memorial & Christmas Fellowship”.
SENIORS MINISTRY
A program with our other Southside
parishes coordinated by the Philoptochos.
Fee: None
Activities: Bi-monthly
gatherings for Church Service, Lunch and Fellowship.
HOSPITAL / NURSING HOME /
SHUT-IN MINISTRY
Contact: Father Nick, Father Byron or Father Tom
Purpose: To reach out and offer God's healing touch to the
ill, infirm and aged. Visitations are made by the clergy and also
periodically by our various organizations.
ORTHODOX CHRISTIANS FOR
LIFE

Purpose: To witness our Church's teachings in all areas
concerning the Sanctity of Life.
Participation: This is open to all. We participate
with Orthodox Christians from all jurisdictions.
Activities: Parish Meetings & Activities; Monthly Regional
Meetings; Car Wash; March for Life in Washington, DC; Sanctity of Life
Sunday; Life Chain; Speak Out Illinois; and much more..

"OPERATION NEHEMIAH" (Rebuilding the Walls of People's Lives)
A ministry to serve the needs of those who come through our door from
the "street"
We need your donations of Grocery Store gift cards($10-$20); Gasoline
Cards($10); Burger King
or McDonalds cards($5-$10)...or you
can donate directly to our "Needy Fund". These items
together with additional aid will be
used to better serve the needs of the MANY PEOPLE WHO
WALK THROUGH
OUR DOORS FROM THE STREET seeking assistance. We developed this
program to assist these
people in rebuilding their lives just as the Prophet Nehemiah in the
Old Testament rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem.
Donations are to be directed to Fr. Nick's
attention. Checks should be made out to the Church
and under MEMO put "Needy Fund".

WITNESS TO CHRIST'S
LOVE

Membership: All are invited to participate.
Purpose: To complement our Parish Ministry by
visiting, helping, befriending and caring for those who are in
nursing homes. |
