CHURCH SERVICE SUPPORT GROUPS

 

ALTAR BOY GUILD
Contact: Fr. Nick, or Fr. Tom at 708-974-3400.
 
Membership open to: 7th-12th Grade boys.
 
Meetings are held: Periodically throughout the year held at church.

Fee: No cost, except for outings.
 
Purpose: Care and service to the Holy Altar and Church.
 
Activities: Besides the service to the church, the guild participates in activities and outings. Previous outings have included boat rides on Lake Michigan, a Chicago Bulls game, a Christmas trip to the Metropolis of Chicago, a visit to the Museum of Science and Industry, and a Northwestern Football Game.

CHANTERS

Participation open to: All those who desire to learn.

Purpose: To offer praises to God through Byzantine hymnology.

ST. TATIANA'S HANDMAIDENS
Contact:   Deanne Savide 708-923-1017 or Maryann Ganzer

Participation open to:  5th - 8th Grade girls.

Meetings are held:  Monthly workshops at Church.

Fee: No cost, except for outings.

Purpose: Care and service to God's house.

Activities: Manage the Candles in the Narthex; Greet worshippers; Distribute Worship Guides; Read Sunday Epistle; Learn about Women Saints and their Service to the Church.

YOUTH CHOIR
Contact: Gloria Guido, director or Fr. Tom at 708-974-3400

Membership open to: Kindergarten to High School.

Practices are held:  Fridays at 3:20 p.m..

Fee: No fee, except for outings.

Purpose: To learn the hymnology of the Church and basic understanding of the Liturgy.

Activities: Meets weekly for practice. Traditionally sings responses for the Divine Liturgy once a month; Christmas Eve Liturgy; Three Hierarchs Vespers; and two Presanctified Liturgies. Group outings in the past have included Brookfield Zoo, Morton Arboretum, St. John Chrysostom Monastery, the Naper Settlement and more.

SENIOR CHOIR
Contact: Merri Fefles, director at 708-448-3348

Membership open to: 16 years old and over.

Meetings are held: Rehearsals on scheduled Tuesdays at church, 7:00 p.m.

Fee: None.

Purpose: Sing the praises of the Lord. To enhance the beauty of the Liturgy.

Activities: Midwest Choir Federation Conference and responsible for religious items that are available for sale at the church through the Icon Store.
